Looking Forward to Friends of Wi-Ne-Ma Day

This was the scene on Friday, the fifth day of demolition of the Missions Building. They brought in a "tub grinder" and it is grinding the waste wood to be hauled away by the semi-truck load.

About the Missions Building Project

Five years of planning, praying, and giving brings us to a place where dreams are transformed into devotion. Construction began on the new Missions Building during 2008. By 2010 we have essentially completed the Great Room.

Now in 2011 we are working to complete west entrance and administrative areas and then the large restrooms by the south entry.

We believe that God calls us now, not to dream, but to devote ourselves to complete this project and develop Wi-Ne-Ma Christian Camp as a special place where God continues to work to draw people, youth and adults, to Himself.

The present Missions Building was constructed in the early 1970s. The Week of Missions conference had outgrown Myrtleward Lodge. Many remember God’s protection as the first attempt to build it collapsed. Others remember rejoicing when the mortgage was burned. We have played, worshiped, and heard from great Bible teachers within its walls. We have hosted missionaries, had our families encouraged, and enjoyed the friendship of those who love and serve the Lord Jesus Christ.

Time and wear has taken its toll on the Missions Building. An evaluation of the structure revealed a serious structural need to either repair or replace the building. After thoughtful and prayerful consideration it was determined that the best course is to replace the Missions Building at its same location. Improvements include heat, lights, acoustic treatment, and electrical system. Planned additions include restrooms, storage, and administration space.
